CORBETT CRAFTSMAN REMODEL
Craftsman Remodel

These clients and friends needed an update. Their home was originally designed to be somewhat traditional. Yet, recently they had added a more craftsman front porch and back outdoor living space with large beams, heavy tapered columns, rustic outdoor stone fireplace. So this update for the interior needed to reflect this more craftsman solid and strong feel.

I created a design direction and overall look for the entry, front door, stairway, millwork, board and batten, fireplace, lighting, paint, window coverings and furniture. Yes, we were serious about touching

everything in this interior to elevate it to reflect the best of what this solid home has to offer. It was just begging for a fresh new look.

We squared off the archways, removed the awkward coffered ceiling in the dining room, added wood floor to the dining room, refinished and stained, the wood floors on first floor a richer brown tone. Iron details and more solid newel posts were created for a whole new more solid look and feel to the stairway and entry.

Furniture placement was key in this angled living room to enhance the space for the piano yet also set the room up for family gathering and conversations after a meal or party. The clients are dear friends of mine and we all love how the space turned out. The team of contractors were amazing and such an integral part of making this

project a success!
