SW PORTLAND HOME
A Fresh Take
on Tradition

This 1938 SW Portland home's small hall bathroom was ready for a transformation. The goal was to modernize the space while preserving its classic charm in a playful, approachable way. Though the room's size didn't change, clever design solutions improved its function. A new ledge behind the vanity, doubling as a windowsill, brings cohesion to the space, while the updated shower, glass door, and extended wainscoting create an airy feel, making the bathroom appear larger than before.

Homeowner wish list:

  • Design and color, this space should be fun and bright to welcome me each morning.

  • New tiled shower with a niche to make it function in this decade

  • Keep the traditional feel yet, make it fun.

  • Make every inch function better

  • Help us find the right contractor : Mountainwood Homes

Result:

  • A beautiful, colorful small bath that looks bigger and functions 100%.

  • And a design that isn’t trendy so the client will love it for years!
